Finance Seminar and Business Manager Network Meetings - The annual Finance Seminar is held soon after the start of the new school year and kicks off the Business Manager Network meetings, which are typically held four times a year. Charter School Special Education Advisory Committee (CSSEAC) - Special Education informational meetings, open to the public, and held three times a year. Click on the link for more information.

The League's Annual Conference and Board Retreat - The conference is the only annual gathering of the entire Colorado charter school community. It is a great opportunity for charter school leaders, board members, teachers, and parents to connect with and learn from their colleagues and experts in the field. The conference features over 60 breakout sessions, an exhibit floor with the latest in products and services for charter schools, and much more. We all know the importance of quality leadership and good governance to the success of a charter school. The Colorado Charter Schools Board Retreat is a great opportunity for new and experienced board members to grow and expand their capacity as charter school leaders. This is a two-day event that includes training, facilitation and plenty of time to network with members of boards from charter schools across Colorado!

On the first day, participants choose from a number of breakout sessions covering a wide range of governance topics. On the second day, charter school boards are given dedicated space and a facilitator to work on specific issues identified in advance. This is a great opportunity to evaluate board and school performance and plan for the upcoming year or work on any issues that you define as a board.

The League's Building Charter School Quality: Intro to Accountability & Performance Management Workshop covers a wide range of topics from an effective Performance Management System, to an overview of the current accountability system, presentations on interim assessments/formative assessments and lessons from the field. Keep updated by viewing the League's event page and joining our mailing list.

Online Charter School Governing Board Training Modules are available (totaling over fifteen hours of professional development). While these training modules provide a comprehensive range of topics and an in depth look at governance and charter school oversight, they are not meant to be a supplement to other training opportunities and resources but more of a companion guide. It is important to recognize that there is great value in attending training sessions as team. Equally important is to select unique and differentiated training opportunities based on a formal needs assessment of your governing board.
